Malachi Dupre

WR

LSU
6’3” 190lbs

Stats:

2014: 14/318/5
2015: 43/698/6
2016: 41/593/3

Malachi Dupre is fast! Dupre tracks the ball very well. His speed and tracking ability allow him to adjust to the football and catch it with his hands at the highest point possible . Dupre has very good size and body control. Dupre has good hands as well. All of this packaged together make Dupre a very good red zone weapon. Dupre, like most young wide receivers needs to become more physical. He also doesn’t have a lot of agility after the catch, he’s more of an over the top vertical player.

There isn’t much on DraftBreakdown for Malchi Dupre from this season. The Wisconsin game  is the only available tape. As you can see Dupre has no probably getting open against a physical Wisconsin defense. The QB just can’t get him the ball. There are several instances where he is wide open but poorly thrown passes either result in drops or incompletions. There is a couple deep balls that really highlight Dupre’s ability to track and adjust to the football.

The game that needs to be looked at is LSU’s bowl game against Louisville where Dupre had 6 catches for 120+ yards in the first half. This is the type of high floor production game that Dupre is capable of putting up. He has all the tools to be an AJ Green type of player he just has been unable to use them since the Quarterback play at LSU has been horrible.

Dupre should test very well at the combine which will increase his draft stock. He is fast with a good vertical. He has gotten faster on the field running his routes which will help him separate from defensive backs.
