Curtis Samuel

RB/WR
Ohio State
5’11” 197lbs

Curtis Samuel is a quick twitch athlete with good explosiveness. I have him ranked as a WR because I think that is where he will be best suited in the NFL. Samuel makes defenders miss easily with his agility, balance, and power. He’s not a very big player, but he uses good effort to run through arm tackles.

Samuel is a very versatile player. He can be used in many different ways. He was a major player maker for Ohio State and I don’t see why that would change going into the NFL. Samuel had 1,636 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns this past season . He was the only player in the country to have at least 700 yards rushing and 800 receiving. His size will lead some to think that he doesn’t have a true position in the NFL. However, I believe he will have a role somewhere similar to a Tyreek Hill in that he can be used in the backfield and as a wide receiver.

Samuel has freaky testing numbers. He has a 37-inch vertical, 10'6" broad jump, 500-pound squat, 400-pound bench press. Therefore, I expect him to have a great combine to increase his rising status.

Urban Meyer, the head coach, for Ohio State, constantly compares Samuel to Percy Harvin. I  think this is a pretty spot on comparison. Curtis Samuel is most likely a day 2 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
