WR
Ole Miss
6’4” 210lbs
2019 class
Dekaylin Metcalf is a great prospect. I originally had him as the WR #2 in his class but due to the character issues of who I had at WR #1, I have since moved Metcalf to the #1 WR for his class. Metcalf tracks the football very well through the air and maintains concentration if the ball is tipped. He has very good hands that are strong in traffic, but also allow him to make some ridiculous plays.
For those of you who follow college football you probably remember this play:
In the short clip, you can see that he uses his body and size very well to create space against a defender in order to high point the football.
Unfortunately, due to injury we didn’t get to see a lot of DK Metcalf this season. He ended up with the medical redshirt. However, in the limited time that he was on the field he showed superstar potential.
Metcalf is a great athlete. He is very decisive after the catch helps him escape from defenders and make them miss while gaining extra yardage. In 2017 look for him to build off of his 2016 season. He is a solid all around WR that will continue to develop.
