Cooper Kupp! Just look at the statistics. Kupp plays in the
FCS instead of FBS but has put up outstanding numbers over his three years at
Eastern Washington. Plus, the FCS should have a couple solid prospects this
year in Fordham TE Phazhan Odom and South Dakota State WR Jake Wieneke as well
as Kupp. Kupp is a solid overall athlete, but doesn’t really wow you in any
physical category. He “wins” with intelligence, attitude and strength. Kupp
runs with a fearless attitude and won’t get tackled easily. He possesses good
balance and delivers a great stiff arm. Kupp is a hands catcher that overpowers
most defenders in contested situations. He is a really good route runner that
has good releases off the line of scrimmage. Here is Matt Waldman’s RSP Boiler
Room clip on Cooper Kupp: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-ie-KaTm-8 if you
haven’t seen these before and enjoyed this one and want to check out more here

Just from watching the RSP Boiler room clips on Kupp you can
see what a solid route runner he is. He not only has a variation of routes that
he can run but he also has different variations within the same route, if that
makes sense. Kupp has very good footwork that allows him to separate from the
defender during his route. He also has a great ability for yards after the
catch.
Kupp is going to put up numbers again this season as week
one against Washington State he put up 12/206/3 and the statistics will never be
a problem. Here is Kupp’s week 1 tape
http://draftbreakdown.com/video/cooper-kupp-vs-washington-state-2016/ I think
there are 3 games on DraftBreakdown for Kupp that you can watch one is against
Oregon from last season. He is always going to look good on tape and has
absolutely destroyed the PAC10 the last 4 years. There really isn’t much to not
like on the tape. Kupp is all over the field. On top of his receiving effort he
also had about 20 yards passing as well as 29 rushing yards. At the wideout position,
Kupp lines up at both inside and outside. Kupp is a high character prospect who
is going to outwork everyone on the field. Vernon Adams, Oregon’s QB last
season, played at EWU with Kupp a few seasons ago and still calls Kupp the best
wide receiver he has ever played with and went as far as saying that he should
be a first round pick. Fox Sports wrote a great article on Kupp, if you haven’t
read it, you can check it out here:

The biggest issue for
Kupp is that he is playing against inferior talent and isn’t physically wowing
player. The FBS teams that Eastern Washington has played against over the last
couple seasons do not pride themselves in strong defense so you really can’t
even use those as a measuring stick to see how Kupp would fair against bigger,
faster, stronger players. Kupp is a technician who excels at route running with
great footwork and preparation. He isn’t the fastest player as he lacks the
break-away speed and most likely isn’t going to put up flashy combine numbers
but he is a hard worker who is determined to make it in the NFL. Bleacher
Report has Kupp going day one or two and NFL draft analyst Chad Reuter believes
that Kupp's athletic testing at the combine will determine his draft slot. I
think that he will most likely be a day 3 pick in this year’s draft but will be
a steal for whatever team decides to draft him. Kupp is also older than Allen
Robinson and Brandin Cooks so he will be knocked for his age in fantasy drafts
next year.
